Causes we have supported
Every year Foundations aims to provide financial support to a range of charitable, voluntary and community causes.
Facilitaid works in developing countries to provide relief to those in conditions of need, hardship or distress. We supported the charity in its work in Burundi, where they built a school for refugee children returning to the rural suburb of Gitega. The school is now fully operational and caters for 567 children, who otherwise would have received no formal education. We have also supported another school building project in Muzye, in the far south of Burundi, which caters for over 1,000 children.
From 2008-2011 we are supporting a major initiative to try to build a further 10 schools which will involve raising over £500,000.
Variety Club
Variety Club was our chosen cause for 2007/8. It has been helping sick, disabled and disadvantaged children for more than 50 years by providing Sunshine Coaches, electric wheelchairs, outings to exciting places, equipping children´s hospitals and help in many other ways.
Variety Club´s Chief Barker (equivalent to CEO), Russ Kane, spoke at our Staff Conference in 2007 and we presented a Sunshine Coach to representatives of the charity at the 2008 Staff Conference.
The Community Fund in Wales
The Community Fund is an independent charity established to provide a permanent source of funding for community based projects in Wales. By donating to this organisation it means our money has reached some really deserving “grass-roots” causes that we would otherwise not have uncovered.
As a Welsh based organisation we wanted to make sure that some of our funds were distributed to well deserving local causes.
