Chosen charity

At our Annual Conference 2011, we launched our two-year commitment to raising £100,000 for our chosen charity, Tŷ Hafan, the Welsh children’s hospice.

Our Foundations Committee is developing a business plan around how this ambitious sum will be raised, including a cd project and a charity cycle ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End in 2012.

The bike ride is being led by our Chief Operating Officer, Paul Stephens. He is being accompanied by colleagues – Project Surveyor, Heath Reynolds; Development Manager, Nick Higgins; Project Director, Chris Roberts and Estimator, Stephen Evans, plus support riders – Project Director, Paul Mannings; Development Manager, Steve Rickard and Graduate Construction Manager, Tom Mountain. In addition we are offering five supply partner places at £3000 each to participate for the whole duration of the event and up to 12 day places at £1000 per day.

The itinerary is set out below:

Monday 10 September John O'Groats to Inverness 120 miles
Tuesday 11 September Inverness to Glasgow 175 miles
Wednesday 12 September Glasgow to Lancaster 175 miles
Thursday 13 September Lancaster to Tewkesbury 195 miles
Friday 14 September Tewkesbury to Bude 170 miles
Saturday 15 September Bude to Lands End 85 miles

About Tŷ Hafan
Tŷ Hafan offers comfort, care and support for life-limited children and young people and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the whole family. This comfort and support is completely free-of-charge to the families in Wales who need it.

Tŷ Hafan was established entirely from public donations. It now costs millions of pounds each year to run the care services and all but 17% (Government funding) is raised through the generosity of donors and supporters.
