Community support

Castleoak's charitable arm, Foundations, is funded by an annual donation from the Group, and contributed to through staff fundraising efforts and the proceeds of various Castleoak events.

Through Foundations we contribute to a range of charitable and community causes in two ways: at a corporate level, we select a major effort to sponsor, and make some, smaller, ad hoc donations, including some to support our partners’ fundraising efforts.

Secondly, we support our most local communities by encouraging requests both from charitable organisations close to our sites and offices and from our own staff for the causes they care about and/or are involved with. This local community support programme is run by our Foundations Committee, made up of 12 members of staff drawn from all over the Castleoak Group of companies, which meets quarterly to discuss fundraising and distribute small grants of up to £1000 to support local causes. Some funds are provided from Group profits, and are added to by fundraising at company events, including a raffle and Auction of Promises at last year’s Staff Conference.

So, Foundations is central to Castleoak’s community support programme, which received a Sunday Times award in 2005.
