Castleoak Timber Frame Environmental Policy
Castleoak is a long-established and respected provider of construction design, manufacture and build services to the social care sector. Castleoak has a clear intent to become the most respected company in our field – placing excellence and partnership at the heart of all we do.
Castleoak Timber Frame was established in 2008 to provide security, control and sustainability over timber frame manufacture and supply and cost, which is one of the most critical elements of Castleoak Group’s production process. Castleoak Timber Frame has 30 employees based at two sites, a 46,000 sq ft factory in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent and a design team office in Malvern, Gloucestershire.
All significant environmental impacts of the operations are assessed and objectives and targets set and reviewed periodically to promote the continual improvement of our environmental performance. We are active members of the UK Timber Frame Association and achieved Level 5 of the Green Dragon Environmental Standard in July 2009, retaining it in August 2010.
In respect of this, Castleoak Timber Frame will:

Work within all the requirements set out in the Castleoak Group Environmental Policy: Comply with applicable legislation; Commit to pollution prevention; Monitor and reduce environmental impacts; Communicate environmental best practice.

Ensure efficient timber design and manufacturing schemes are investigated and implemented

Ensure timber products used in construction have chain of custody to demonstrate responsible purchasing

Ensure the efficient and responsible use of energy, water and other natural resources

Reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill through implementing reduce, reuse and recycling opportunities at the factory and offices

This Environmental Policy is issued to all Castleoak Timber Frame employees and made available to interested parties upon request. It is reviewed annually to ensure that it fully represents the culture, activities and aims of Castleoak Group.
