Sustainability

We understand how important sustainability is to the success of all business, as well as our particular potential and responsibility, as a construction company, to make a difference to the environment.

While our Environmental Manager, Miles Thomas, is responsible for this area, all Castleoak employees and suppliers are involved in our efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle.  Here are some examples of what we are doing across the group:

Projects

• we incorporate sustainable technologies and energy efficient appliances into all our projects

• we adopt waste minimisation strategies throughout design, demolition and construction 

• all our sites have SMART meters and our Construction Managers monitor waste, energy and water readings and diesel usage

• we have a cross-discipline Sustainability Group, which progresses our Zero Carbon Homes agenda

Corporate

• We have achieved the UK-wide BS8555 and the Green Dragon Environment Standard Certification

• Our timber frame factory has achieved the highest level Green Dragon certificatiion (Level 5)

• We tailor waste management plans for our sites, factory and offices

• We are working with the Carbon Trust to reduce our carbon emissions
