Castleoak speakers at key events today

Our Group Chief Executive and our Group Innovation Director are speaking at care and construction sector events today.

Melville Knight, our Group Chief Executive, is speaking at the Annual Care Conference for Wales 2012, joining speakers including Gwenda Thomas AM, Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services and Sarah Rochira, Older People’s Commissioner for Wales.  The event, at Cardiff City Stadium, is organised by social care publication, Caring Times, and he will be speaking about the challenges and opportunities presented by care accommodation development and examine future development prospects for the sector.

Castleoak Group Innovation Director, Colwyn Knight, is at the UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) Innovation Showcase 2012 taking place at the National Self-Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon.

Colwyn will be speaking about Juniper House in Brackley, the UK’s first Passivhaus care home which we built for just six per cent uplift in build costs.  The event, supported by both the NHBC and Zero Carbon Hub, looks at innovative and cost-effective ways of delivering sustainable buildings.  Speakers include Wayne Hemingway OBE, renowned designer who is Chair of the South East Design Forum and is on the Design Council Trustee Board and the Design Council CABE Committee.
