Castleoak shortlisted for Structural Timber Frame Awards
Neil Robins

Castleoak is delighted to have been shortlisted for a Structural Timber Frame Award for its work to design and build the innovative dementia care home for The Abbeyfield in Winnersh.

This innovative circular design as been constructed in timber frame, pushing the boundaries of off-site manufacture and prefabrication of a care home.

The project has been short listed as Healthcare Project of the Year, and our client The Abbeyfield shortlisted as Client of the Year for their bold approach to the development.

Castleoak identified the site and secured planning permission, then progressed to find a new construction methodology prior to taking the project to site.  The project was successfully handed over on time and budget in May 2016.  The home opened to residents in August 2016.
