Planning permission secured for 70-bed care home in Vale of Glamorgan
Following our detailed planning submission, the Vale of Glamorgan Council has granted permission for a 70-bed care home - the county’s first new care facility for 20 years.
The new home at Port Road, Wenvoe will include a private dining room, activity rooms, hair salon, a gym, café, bar/cinema, day rooms and offices and create up to 95 full and part-time jobs.
Located near Cardiff, the 1.8-acre site will provide an operator with a strong potential market from across both the Vale and the Welsh capital. Currently accommodating a large house, outbuildings and paddock, we will clear the site and connect utility services before completing the sale of the site.
We are currently discussing the sale of the site with an interested operator.
"With a rapidly ageing population and shortage of quality care beds, there is an urgent local need for a new, purpose-built care home in the Vale, so we are delighted to secure this planning permission," said MD Development, Lisa Gledhill.
"We hope to complete the sale of the site before Spring next year."
