Retirement Villages turns again to Castleoak for £24 million project in Essex
Updated: Jul 24, 2020
Castleoak has been chosen to deliver Debden Grange, the latest addition to the Retirement Villages’ portfolio.
The design and build contract will total £24 million, with Retirement Villages investing a total of £30 million into the project.
Castleoak will deliver this significant project in two phases. The initial stage will see seven two-bedroom properties released for sale this Autumn and completed by late Spring 2019, with the entire village due for completion in 2020.
The ground floor of each brick built cottage will comprise a large, spacious hallway, open plan living and dining area, a modern kitchen with high-specification integrated appliances, and a double bedroom and a separate shower room.
Upstairs, the landing leads through to a large master bedroom with ensuite and fitted wardrobes; each home has a 24-hour emergency call system for peace of mind. The second stage of construction will see the completion of a further 74 properties, including 64 two-bedroom apartments.
The development will also deliver Debden Grange House, a purpose built 40-bed care home, which will also offer the wider village residents a domiciliary care service for those that require extra support.
A purpose-built central clubhouse will complete the Village which will house a restaurant, resident’s bar and lounge, library, hairdressing salon, shop and sun terrace.
Will Crawford, Group Development Director at Retirement Villages Group, commented, “Debden Grange will be a fantastic addition to our portfolio. There isn’t an offering like this in the area, which means a new option for those retiring in the region. We’re excited to replicate the same success we have seen at our established sites.”
“We’re delighted that Retirement Villages has chosen Castleoak again to deliver this specialist development” said Doug Jones, managing director at Castleoak. “We pride ourselves on building long term partnerships with our customers. This is our fourth project in recent years and follows our work at Charters and Elmbridge Villages.”
